Money Money Money

The SNP is in the money. As someone once said money is the mothers milk of politics.In 2010, significant donations included £50,000 from businessman Angus Tulloch, £16,000 from Gilbert Wilson, and £15,000 from firm Hydracat Ltd.It was also left almost a Million pounds by the Scottish poet Edwin Morgan in his will.And the party also recieved a donation of £500,000 from Brian Souter the owner of Stagecoach.Membership fees are up to £408,000 as membership has increased from 8,500 to over 18,000 since Alex Salmond took over the party leadership.

The SDLP leader Margaret Ritchie is to face a leadership bid. The bid comes from Patsy McGlone the Mid-Ulster MLA and the current Deputy leader of the SDLP.

Daily Mail Owner Says We Did Not Hack Phones In Order To Get Stories

Martin Morgan, chief executive of the publisher of the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday, said: "Our titles have not published stories based on hacked messages. We have not carried out an investigation. We don't deem it necessary at the moment. We are not in the same position as some other [newspapers]."

George Osborne Meets Murdochs Minions 16 Times

The Chancellor, meanwhile, met senior News Corporation executives including Mr Murdoch and Mrs Brooks on 16 occasions for talks and social events after taking office. It has emerged that over the same period Labour leader Ed Miliband met News Corp executives 14 times. And Michael Gove the Education Secretary has met more News Corporation executives than any other Cabinet Minister.Including 6 meetings in the weeks following the General Election. Mr Gove is a former employee of the Murdoch owned Times newspaper and his wife still works there.

Hugh Orde Attacks Rupert Murdoch




Hugh Orde has spoken out against Rupert Murdoch.He said: 'You saw the chief officer of the police service of this country, Sir Paul Stephenson, saying, "Look this happened on my watch. I am responsible. I am therefore... It's on my watch. I am resigning". He went on to accuse Rupert Murdoch of shirking responsibility for his actions.
