Andrew Mitchell was reported to have said: "Best you learn your fucking place. You don't run this fucking government. You're fucking plebs." It seems that Andrew Mitchell the current Tory Chief Whips main problem is that he called a police officer a pleb. David Camerons tried very hard to distance himself and his party from elitism. And now Andrew Mitchells antics has reminded everyone this government is run by former English public school boys. Mr Mitchell at first denied swearing at the police but journalists who have claimed to have seen police notebooks say otherwise. Can Mr Mitchell survive this scandal or is he damaged goods?
